Ron sent me these lyrics in March 2020. They impressed me so, that I wrote a song. I picked through the verses and changed the order but didn't change one word of the text. It was such a difficult time and I was thinking about the possibility of dying before I was ready. This song got me through that time.

Bleecker St Reality Band - History and Time Line

It all began in 1992 when David and Kathy were both living in the same building on Bleecker St in the West Village in lower Manhattan. She was reading a biography of Phil Ochs, one of Dylan's contemporaries who lived and died in that block, writing what he felt. She was inspired by the history of the place and even though it seemed that history had passed on there still seemed to be an incredible energy left. People always on the street. Folk singers and african drum jams at midnight, hard rock spilling out from all the clubs, the Bitter End still cranking into the night. Even though Joni and Joan and Judy had left, even though Dylan and Tim Hardin and Jimi and Coltrane were no longer there, Kathy and David were. They started playing together with friends from the neighborhood and throughout the various incarnations of the band, they kept at it. The album UNREAL is the fruition of these years.

Duality

The road I live on is in the countryside and there are no lanes painted on the surface. I was driving home and it occurred to me there is no left or right and I was in the middle. When Yahweh separated the day from the night, he saw that it was good. I take that for myself. She saw that it was good. The world I live in is the world as I see it. I choose what I see. I create everything around me with my thoughts. And as a species that's how we exist. All of us imagining life, together. My guitar technique is inspired by Joni Mitchell and Michael Hedges. If I had to describe my music genre, I call it "ArtRock".
